This year, Iβm choosing a joyful resolution.Β I am so excited to share not only the resolution, but also the progress throughout the year!
If you were around for my 2025 goals, you know they wereβ¦ ambitious. No alcohol – which I achieved!Β And not buying new clothing. And while I did my best (and learned a lot), I also learned something important: hard doesnβt always equal better.
So for 2026, I wanted a resolution that would still challenge me β but in a way that feels warm, creative, and life-giving.
Thatβs how I landed on this:
Iβm making one batch of cookies every single week in 2026.
Yes. Cookies. Every week.
And honestly? It feels perfect.
A Resolution Rooted in Love

Right before Christmas, I lost my Grandpa, Dennis Sauers. Itβs a loss our family is still learning how to carry.
Before he passed, he and my Grandma gave me something incredibly special: a cookie jar from his personal collection. Grandpa collected cookie jars, and this one now sits in my kitchen β a quiet, meaningful reminder of him.
Somehow, this resolution became a way to honor that gift.
Using the cookie jar. Filling it. Reaching for it weekly. Letting baking become a gentle ritual β a way to remember, reflect, and feel connected to him in the most comforting way possible.
Grief doesnβt always need to look heavy. Sometimes it looks like butter, sugar, and a warm oven.
Why Cookies? And Why Now?
Hereβs the funny part.
I love baking β especially while fasting. Itβs a way to enjoy food, enjoy being in my kitchen, even when I am not actually eating.
And every Christmas season, I go a little wild with it. I bake too many cookies, give them away, stack them everywhere⦠and every year I think:
Why do I only do this at Christmas?
This past holiday season β even before Grandpa passed β that thought came again.
Then everything aligned:
- The fleeting βwhy do I wait until Christmas?β thought
- The loss of Grandpa and wanting a way to feel close to him
- Being tired of ultra-restrictive resolutions
- And finding a butter headband on clearance (because of course that matters)

And suddenly, the idea clicked.
Not a rule.
Not a restriction.
Just a weekly invitation to bake something joyful.
Turning Cookies Into CommunityΒ
This isnβt just about baking β itβs about sharing the fun.
Each week, Iβll be baking a new batch of cookies, and hereβs where you can follow along:
- Ingredient Hauls & Shorts on YouTube β Grocery Addict
- Behind-the-scenes moments on Instagram and Facebook
- Recipes (if a virtual recipe is available) pinned on Pinterest
Eventually, each cookie will get its moment β whether thatβs a Reel, a Short, a blog post, or all three.
Invite to Share Your Favorite Cookie Recipes!
Iβd love to make this interactive.
If you have a favorite cookie recipe, feel free to share it with me for consideration! The only rule is this:
Please donβt share a recipe unless youβre okay with me sharing it publicly on the internet.
I want this to be fun, collaborative, and respectful β and who knows, your recipe might be one of the weekly cookies!
Tools, Ingredients & Favorites
As I bake, Iβll be sharing tools, ingredients, and favorite finds along the way. Anything I personally use and can link to, youβll always be able to find right here:
From mixers to baking sheets to yes β maybe even a butter headband β itβll all live there.
Hereβs to a Joyful 2026
This year isnβt about doing more.
Itβs about doing things that feel good.
One batch of cookies at a time.
One memory at a time.
One moment of joy each week.
Iβm so glad youβre here β and I canβt wait to bake with you.β¨
Stay tuned… the following list will be update:
Week 1 – German Chocolate Cookies
Week 2 – Molasses Crinkle Cookies
