A second week of 2023 in the books! And it’s the first of the year I had 100% success in hitting my 18 hour minimum. If you look at the 140 hours and 57 minutes fasted, and divide by 7 you’ll see that I averaged just over 20 hours fasted.
You can see the exact hours below in the details. I love looking back at the data and just reflecting on the week. It’s a coincidence that out of 7 fasts, two of them were exact (18 hours and 12 minutes)!
While looking at the day-to-day, you’ll see my shortest eating window was 11 minutes. This was a down day where I ate a simple, 500 calorie meal. These are always eaten quickly. The next two eating windows were about 6 hours long.
I like to share the details NOT to give you a blueprint to follow. Instead, it’s to show how much variety can exist in an intermittent fasting lifestyle. I bend my eating windows to my days (NOT planning my days to a strict diet!).
One interesting thing about this week was I ate pot roast 4 days this past week. The portions were smaller than a typical meal (and I did eat more than just that!). Why would I eat this 4 days in a row?! Because I was testing Glucose levels with my Continuous Glucose Monitor. Results to come soon… but it was fun. I was testing hacks offered from the Glucose Goddess.
I hadn’t made a roast in a long time. It was so good!! And actually, even without the hacks, it’s a meal that my body responds well to. I am soon testing with steak bites and mashed potatoes… I’m curious if I’ll see the same readings with beef and potatoes in different preparation.
