My fasting app of choice! ZERO

I am often asked, “Jackie, what fasting app do you use?” because I share my hours frequently whether in a “What I Eat in a Day” video or in my Instagram stories.  Maybe you’ve seen one… looks like this the photo on the right. A fasting timer app shows a completed 24-hour 13-minute fast with start and finish times displayed.

I share screenshots regularly to give quick insight as to “how” I do fasting and living my life joyfully.  I started sharing my weekly insights years ago on the blog, but didn’t keep it up (sorry!) Guess what…. it’s coming back!

I want to share so that you can have something to reference, something dissect as you’re learning to make fasting fit into your life… NOT make your life fit into a fasting routine.

Zero – My Fasting App

So back to the initial question; I use “Zero” and have quite the streak going, too! As I am writing this, I have 2,036 consecutive logged fasts.  YEP – nearly 6 years!  (If this isn’t proof that I actually love this lifestyle, I am not sure what is!) Seven circles, each under a day of the week, are green, with "Zero" in red at the top and a score of 2,036.

Why Zero you might ask?  Truly the answer is simply a friend suggested it, I tried it, liked it and didn’t want to break my streak!  You could use the common phrase, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.  I never saw a reason to leave.  It’s simple, intuitive, free and I love being able to see the data compiled together.  I can look back over my fasting history and maybe it gives insights.  Or it can serve as a reminder of how I handled a situation (i.e. “How much did I fast last time we went to Disney?”)

No Comparison

Now this section’s title could be misleading… “no one compares to Zero” might be the assumption you make.  Unfortunately, that’s not what I’m saying.  It could be true!  BUT, what I am really trying to say is, I have no comparison to offer.  No argument why it’s better than others.  It’s simply what I use, what I like and therefore, what I have stuck with!

Free vs. Paid version?

Before I share with you “Zero Plus” I want to be clear – I use and always have used the free version.  The Zero Plus can offer many additional tracking capabilities and insights (such as logging food, hydration, seeing your fasting zones, access to educational material).  You can learn more about the offerings here.

But I am a simple lady.  Truly, fasting gives me peace and eliminates much food noise in my life.  Because of this, I personally don’t track additional items.  BUT I love that Zero has it available for those who want more tools!  And, if they ever add in more community features, I can consider joining and not lose access to the 6 years of data I’ve already logged.

Side note on the community piece – how cool would it be if we could have within Zero Plus private groups to share our “First Bite of the Day” and quick win photos with each other?!  Did I pitch that idea to Zero?! You bet!!  Now THAT I would pay for!!

As it stands now, tracking my hours is so useful and the tool I rely on.  It’s also the one that is within the free – so that’s where I remain.

Zero Partner

After using Zero for nearly 6 years, they reached out to me and asked about being a partner with them!  I was giddy with excitement!  1) Zero knows who I am?! 2) They don’t mind at all that I use the free version (it would have been a deal breaker for me if so!) and 3) these partnerships to me are the best.  I’ve been sharing them for years and answering that question of “Which app do you use” for YEARS now… I have no plans of stopping.  Now I just get to do it alongside Zero! 👏

And what’s even better?! IF you want the “Zero Plus” you get a discount signing up through me!! (And yes, I get an affiliate commission). Truly a win-win scenario.

There are two ways you can sign-up:
