The Joy of Fasting on Halloween 🎃

Intermittent fasting is not about perfection—it’s about freedom. My goal is usually simple: fast, have my OMAD eating window, and then fast again. That’s the rhythm that works for me, even on holidays like Halloween. But here’s the thing: if something fun pops up that I didn’t expect or plan for, it’s okay! Variance is part of the lifestyle.

Flexibility Over Perfection

Fasting doesn’t have to be all-or-nothing. If today looks a little different, that doesn’t mean you failed. You still fasted, even if it wasn’t your “usual” fast. And the real power comes from not beating yourself up, but instead moving forward with your next fast.

In the past, I quit too many diets the moment I wasn’t perfect. One slip and I’d think, “Well, I blew it.” But fasting isn’t like that. It’s sustainable because it gives you both structure and freedom. You can be disciplined most days and flexible when it matters. That’s how you build a lifestyle that lasts.

Five Years In, Still Loving It

I’ve been living this fasting lifestyle for over five years now with no plan to stop. Most days I stick to my rhythm, but when a holiday or special moment calls for it, I can flex. That balance is what keeps me joyful—and it’s why I know this is sustainable long-term.

So today, if your fast looks a little different, don’t stress. Enjoy the treats, the memories, and then fast again tomorrow. That’s the beauty of it: you get to enjoy both the fast and the life you’re living.
