I have been wearing a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) for nearly 6 weeks. Incase you’re unfamiliar, a CGM is a sensor within your underarm that you scan with your phone. It continuously tracks your blood sugar levels.
Often, these CGMs are thought to be for diabetics only. However, as an individual it’s extremely eye opening to see exactly how I respond to foods I eat. As you know, I enjoy eating all the foods. However, learning about my responses to certain foods can help me to really make better decisions, while still including foods that I love!
Before continuing, I want to be clear, NutriSense has sent me these CGMs for free. I had no responsibility to share, but if I enjoyed using the CGM, I had the opportunity to become an affiliate. Well, no surprise, I truly love the tool and knowledge gained so I have taken the opportunity to be an affiliate.
As an affiliate, they provided me a coupon code to share in the event you purchase; FOODIE25
Additionally, and at no cost to you, you can take this NutriSense survey to see how a CGM could help you reach your wellness goals. This SURVEY is completely free and only takes a few moments.
WHY WEAR A CGM?
First, I am not diabetic. I get asked this when I bring up the CGM… so that is NOT part of why I wear a CGM.
Wearing a CGM allows you to analyze how your body responds to certain foods, to events (such as stress!), and even exercise. So much information is available to the masses, but as individuals what we learn applies to us slightly differently than “average”. However, a CGM gives us a true individual result!
WHY DO I CARE ABOUT BLOOD SUGAR?
Blood Sugar spikes can cause you to feel lethargic and make you feel hungry. I would prefer to avoid both of these… I don’t want to eat, just for the result to be feeling like I need to eat more or feel like a sack of lazy bones. I can learn about what foods cause the spikes/drops and learn to better manage it. Whether in the order I eat, or in the actual foods I eat!
RESOURCES?
I have been learning through a few methods. First, NutriSense’s website and their Dietician support (which is free your first month!).
Second, I ordered and am actively reading this book. It’s helping me understand the importance of managing/balancing my blood sugar and giving me ideas of tests to run!
WANT TO SEE MY RESULTS?
I have been making YouTube shorts with results. As they continue to be published, you can see my results with this playlist all about blood sugar results!
As a reminder, individuals and their responses to foods will vary from one person to another. The best way to know your results is to test your own blood. Take survey here to see if NutriSense makes sense for you!
[…] just that!). Why would I eat this 4 days in a row?! Because I was testing Glucose levels with my Continuous Glucose Monitor. Results to come soon… but it was fun. I was testing hacks offered from the Glucose […]
