Welcome back to another weekly meal plan roundup! This week is extra special in our houseโmy son turns 9 ๐ฎย and, as always, birthdays mean yummy food and simple traditions we love. Itโs also the first full week of school, which means Iโm leaning on meals that feel cozy and fun for our family. On top of that, Iโm personally kicking off the week with a 3-day fast (until Wednesday afternoon), so youโll see how our meals flow right into the celebration!
If youโre new here, hi! Iโm Jackie, and I practice One Meal a Day (OMAD) intermittent fasting. My goal is to make that one meal satisfying, joyful, and filled with variety. Hereโs whatโs on our menu this week:
This Weekโs Meals
Monday:
Double Soup Night! Iโm making a big batch of Chicken Noodle Soup (I donโt really measure, but this recipe is very similarโplus, we add full peppercorns for extra flavor) and Black Bean Soup (I always use extra beans and swap in green peppers instead of red). Weโll enjoy both soups with Italian bread, butter, cheese, and plenty of salad fixinโs.
Tuesday:
Leftover soupsโbecause soup night always makes enough for another round, and thatโs exactly what I need while finishing up my fast.
Wednesday:
Butter Chicken with rice and naan. This is one of my absolute favorites, and Iโll be breaking my fast just in time to enjoy it.
Thursday:
My sonโs 9th birthday! ๐ His request is classic: Hungry Howieโs pizza at the park, with fresh broccoli on the side. Weโve been doing โpizza and parkโ for years now, and itโs a tradition I truly look forward to every September.
Friday:
Dinner out at Olive Garden! Their Never-Ending Pasta Bowl is back, and since we have a gift card, itโs the perfect family night out after a busy school week.
Saturday:
Spaghetti, Texas Toast, and saladsโplus cupcakes to share at a friendโs house for a fun get-together (kind of a non-party birthday celebration).
Sunday:
Leftovers day! My favorite way to wrap up the week with a mish-mash of the delicious meals weโve already enjoyed.

Where I Shop
As always, most of my ingredients come from ALDI, which is my favorite store for both staples and fun seasonal finds. I usually round things out at Meijer, and sometimes Iโll pop into Costco, Samโs Club, Target, or Trader Joeโs if I need extras.

Many of the recipes I use come from online sources, and I save them all to my Pinterest page. If youโre looking for meal inspiration, itโs a great place to browse and find your next delicious idea!
